How It Works
The counseling process begins with an email or call to Jenny to set up an initial appointment. Currently, appointments start at these times, although not all are offered every week:
Mondays 8:30am to 2:30pm
Tuesdays 8:30am to 2:30pm
Thursdays 8:30am to 2:30pm
Fridays 8:00am to 1:00pm
Session length is approximately 50 minutes. The primary goal of the first session is for Jenny to listen to your concerns and for you to determine if counseling with Jenny is a good fit. Based on the information you provide, she will make recommendations for the focus, frequency, and length of counseling.
During counseling, the strategies used will be determined by your goals. Reasonable goals might include:
Decrease unwanted thoughts, feelings or behaviors
Increase self-awarness, self-acceptance or self-esteem
Explore and heal underlying issues
Express emotions to safely heal from pain
Increase sense of support
Counseling continues until you believe your goals have been met for the time being. No matter what brings you to counseling, most clients walk away feeling more secure, whole and free as a result.

When assessing the cost of counseling, it’s important to consider that a more experienced counselor may be able to help you achieve growth in fewer sessions. At this time, Jenny is unable to offer a sliding scale fee and is not in-network with any insurance panels. However, her services are usually covered as part of out-of-network benefits. If you have out-of-network benefits, Jenny can give you the necessary paperwork, and you can file for partial reimbursement directly with your insurance company. Additionally, her services are an eligible expense for Health Savings Accounts or Flexible Spending Accounts.
